Your computer needs you to go on a spring cleaning spree (regardless of what season it is!) and get it back to the way it is supposed to be – the speedy and lightning-fast computer that you know and love. Getting rid of the “ Your startup disk is almost full” warning message is pretty simple – all you need to do is free up space on your startup disk by cleaning it out and getting rid of unnecessary data, and once you do so, the message will go away. This warning message is basically a 911 call from your computer to you, and your computer is asking for your help. Instead, this message is simply a warning informing the user that their startup disk is filling up and that if they do not heed the warning and free up space on it, they may start experiencing problems such as jitters and lag. Unlike most of the other messages that Macs spew out to users, this is not an error and in no way indicates that some problem or issue exists. This means that when the partition of your Mac that contains the version of OS X that you use starts filling up, you will start seeing this message from your computer. On a Mac, the startup disk is the partition of the Mac’s HDD or SSD that its Operating System resides in. When a Mac’s startup disk starts running out of free disk space and starts filling up, it starts displaying a message stating “ Your startup disk is almost full” to the user.
